Writers block

I’m struggling quite severely with writer’s block at the moment. My brain seems to have stopped thinking of interesting and funny things, or even just interesting or funny things to write about. Unfortunately this seems to also have spread to thinking of interesting or funny things to say, as you can tell from the conversations the Pregnant A and I had in our office today:

1. The joys of having a new toaster (she has one, I’m going to buy one)
2. Whether or not spinach has a high content of iron in it, and if it does, whether that’s why Popeye gets his strength from it
3. How the crazy mild weather (apart from the last couple of days) means that baby birds, born early because their parents think its spring, will die when the cold weather returns, as it has. (I’d like to say that I was more of an observer in this conversation than a participant).
4. How this is the earliest Easter since 1913 (pop fact of the day) and how we weren’t sure why the date of easter keeps changing but we think that it might be something to do with the moon.

See, neither interesting or funny to anyone else but we spent the day being both amused and content, working, chatting, drinking tea and eating biscuits. It’s the little things that make the world go round in the most delightful way.

Eating: Beans on toast (home made, not heinz beans)
Drinking: Tonic (I’m a bit confused as to why there is no gin in it)
Watching: Skins

  1. Laurie Says:

Every year I wonder why the date of Easter moves around but am never bothered enough to find out. I think it’s because it’s always the second tuesday or something, so as years and weekdays are out of sync it moves back and forth by up to 6 days.
