Shiny and practical

During an on-going convesration about e-campaigning at work last week, it was revealed that I had a blog, which led to the obvious question: “What do you write about? Politics?”. Which is the question I always get asked, and to which the answer is as ever: “Sometimes, but also shoes”.

Guess which category this entry is going to fall into ;)

Almost a year on from my first trainer purchase in years, my lovely red trainers have become a bit worn at the edges, the velcro no longer sticks and the colour has faded to dullish red. None of which would usualy prevent me from wearing them until they’ve completley fallen apart, but for the discovery that they leak. Boy and I are off to Norway in a week or so for a few days, and apparently tramping through several inches of snow in 4 inches heels is not an option, nor are leaking trainers.

A new pair of trainers it is then.

After a week of searching, and looking, and trying on at various times in various stores with various people I’ve found the perfect pair of tainers - they are sturdy and practical, and don’t show any signs of leaking, they even have laces (my mother would be so proud). But much more importantly - they have just the right amount of glitter!

You can take the girl out of high heels, but you can’t take away the glitter.

One week later and the evil Skechers people still didn’t have the trainers I liked in a size 44. And you still can’t buy them online - at least not in this country. Gah.
