Excuse me, can you help?
It’s that time of year again when my twelve month phone contract is up and my thoughts naturally turn to which shiny piece of technology my life over the next year should become totally dependent on. As my first step towards this I’ve decided that I’m going to switch to Orange from O2 as that way I’ll get my handset for free without having to haggle with O2’s disconnection department and Orange Wednesdays, obv.
Every time I upgrade to something that isn’t a nokia, within three months the hand set is pissing me off, I’m counting the months until I can get a new phone and swear that I’ll never have anything but a nokia again. However Orange’s selection of nokia’s is somewhat uninspiring. So my question is should I settle for the bog-standard but trusted Nokia 6230i or go with the much sleeker and lets face it better looking Motorola V3?
Comments? Advice? Other suggestions?

I have the 6230i and I never even think about my phone — unlike with my k700i, when I was constantly thinking how crap it was. It’s not imaginative, but it works.
If I were you I’d hold out a while and see if the N90 becomes available, but if not, why not get the N70? Also, the very sexy 6280 is in “coming soon” mode on their site.

You don’t have to buy direct from Orange and suffer their limited range of naff phones. If you buy online from other people, you can get whatever the hell you like.
I’ll keep suggesting the Nokia 6111 because it’s cheap, small and tasty. It doesn’t run Flash, play gameboy games, tidy your room or do the laundry like the N-series, but then it doesn’t take up all your pocket/handbag either. I secretly want one myself, but they’re a bit too girly and would definitely ruin my geek-cred.
Anyway, http://www.onestopphoneshop.co.uk were the people I got my phone from last year - had no problems with them, but there’s probably better deals out there if you do a bit of googling.

I don’t think Motorola have *ever* been a supplier of quality mobile phones so I’m not sure I’d go for the V3. It may look thin and indeed if you fancy it PINK, but the keypad is disgusting. Yes a strong word but it really is.

Oh and I have a N70 and it’s great. If you don’t want a symbian OS tho it will be pretty pointless.
