The end of civilisation…

Wednesday, July 27th, 2005

I’ve run out of clean clothes!
Following yesterday’s break down of just what the hell I’ve been up to for the past few weeks, what I forgot to mention was the amount of laundry I’d found time to do – the answer being, not nearly enough. At lunch time today I went to […]

My life in numbers

Today…

…my building wasn’t evacuated (unlike yesterday)

Watching: West Wing, season 4
Listening to: 3 Colours Red Pirouette

Domesticity

Monday, July 18th, 2005

One of the things they don’t tell you about being a grown up is that while you may get to stay up all night, come home when you want, live off cereal if you must, order drinks in the bar, go out to dinner, have jobs that allow you views like this, and generally not […]

And then Thursday happened…

Friday, July 15th, 2005

A lot has happened in the past week, 10 days, fortnight, some of it personal and some of it public and I’ve resisted the urge to write about either. In part because the personal is personal and in part because my reaction to the public has also been personal and for once I haven’t […]

Gin and olives

Monday, July 11th, 2005

I never used to like olives. Through out my childhood my dad would try to get me to eat them, would tell me I was missing out on a delicacy when I would turn my nose up at them in favour of a packet of cheese and onion crisps (my dad also tried to […]

And the beat goes on

Saturday, July 9th, 2005

I caught the tube into work yesterday, I caught it again to go Laurie’s and again on the way home and I’m still jumpy. The tube was held at the platform at Lancaster Gate, the driver told us another train was being checked out at Bethnal Green, a couple of people got off. […]

Not a good day

Friday, July 8th, 2005

I’ll write more tomorrow. For now its enough to know that I’ve heard from/spoken too/heard about everyone I need to. And you’re all ok. I am terribly grateful for all the e-mails, text messages, phone calls, blogs and comments that have been sent, held, posted today from those of you here letting […]

Bubbles

Wednesday, July 6th, 2005

There is something that feels delectably subversive about drinking (a lot of) free champagne at a posh party thrown for right wing, white, middle-aged, upper middle class, business types - even if the promised celebrities didn’t show up.
Nursing: a hangover & drunken injuries
Very excited by: the return of This Life*
Listening to: Blur - The […]
