Do you remember when…

In the city this evening there is a London Top B. It pretty much does what it says on the tin - it’s Top B, but in London, apparently. And as an attractive an idea as it sounds initially we’re not going:

- It costs £10 to get in, you know like Top B *always* did.

- Kinda worried that it’ll be a bit like when conference people would go to Baby B during the holidays. You’d be there taking a break from the revision/work/the Library/sitting in the piazza or whatever reason you had for still being there, wanting to sit around, chat, drink, dance and enjoy being at university, and then all these late 20s, early 30s conference people would turn up, letting down their hair after a hard days conferenceing, trying to relive their ‘youth’, dancing embarassingly, drinking too much and generally just getting in your way.

Unfortunatly I suspect that many of the Warwick grads in London, and don’t forget there are many generations of them, are now the conference people. And the actuality of the realisation that that is who we might be turning into is just too traumatic for words!

- Also the past is the past for a reason, it’s over, we’ve moved on. And the ghosts from that time should stay there.

This is not to say that I did not love Top B. Of course I did :-) And in recognition of how great those days were, there are retrospective pics up in the usual place. Did you know me at university? It’s likely there are pics of you up there. All the usual, if you object to having your face splashed all over t’interweb etc, let me know and I’ll take the offending pic down (probably).
