It’s like school sports day
Picking up the baton and running with it…
The last film I saw at the cinema:
The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy – one of the better films I’ve seen recently, I was sorry when it finished. The cast were almost perfect, it was funny if you’d never read the book and even funnier if you had.
Last film I watched otherwise:
Dr No. Housemate D and I could have sworn we’d seen it before, everyone’s seen all the Bond films at least once right? But it must have been far back in the mists of time. A very enjoyable outing for the first Bond film, although difficult not to laugh thanks to Austin Powers.
Films I’m looking forward to seeing:
Batman Begins, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Fantastic Four, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire - even if its not out until December. Hmmm, how commercial am I?
Total number of films I own:
Ummm…lots. Variously on good old fashioned VHS, some taped from TV classics and of course plentiful DVDs – well what else are 3 for £20 offers for?
Five films that mean something to me…
10 Things I Hate About You was our movie the summer I was 17/18. Empire Records is loved and made me want to work in a record store – didn’t it you? Breakfast at Tiffany’s – the original Sex in the City girl. Swingers – it’s money baby. Sliding Doors – it’s worrying how much that movie’s outlook on life reflects my own.
Honourable mentions…
Fight Club, Reservoir Dogs, High Fidelity, Wonder Boys, Go, To Kill a Mocking Bird, Garden State
Passing the baton…
I’m entrusting this to Matt who needs to be distracted from the field and Laurie who is never one to miss out on a meme.
